Make Bunny Themed Gift Baskets

Hippity Hopscotch

What you need: Plastic tablecloth * White, pink, and purple paint markers * 2 white socks * White embroidery floss and darning needle * White and pink stiff felt * Small blue, pink, and white pompoms * Crafts glue * 2 cups of rice

1. Lay tablecloth on the floor. Use the paint markers to draw a hopscotch game along one side of the tablecloth. When paint dries, cut tablecloth lengthwise to eliminate any excess width. 2. Create each playing piece by filling a sock with one cup of rice. Tie the end in a tight knot so the rice will not escape. 3. Glue on pom-pom nose and eyes. Let glue dry completely. 4. Thread a needle with floss. Pass the needle under the rabbit's nose, leaving an inch of floss on each side of the nose. Tie each side in a knot to hold thread in place. 5. Cut out a pair of white outer ears and slightly smaller pink inner ears. Glue the pink ears to the white ears and glue finished pairs to sock. 6. Throw playing piece on the number 1 (see photo A). Hop over it and onto each number until you reach 10 (see photo B). Land on both feet when there are two numbers next to each other, such as 2 and 3, and only one foot when there is one number by itself, such as 4. Turn around, hop back, pick up your playing piece when you reach it (see photo C), and return to start. Each turn, throw playing piece on the next highest number, hopping over the playing piece as you move up the board and then picking it up on your way back to the start point.

Tabletop Garden

What you need: Container, such as a strawberry box or a terra-cotta planter * Potting soil * Wheat grass seed * Spanish moss (optional) * Smooth, unpolished stones * Weatherproof and nontoxic paint markers * Crafts glue * Plastic eyes

1. Add a drainage hole to the container if it does not already have one. Fill with potting soil. Plant grass seed about 1/8-inch deep, and then water. Place container in sunlight, watering every two days. Grass should be ready in 5-7 days. 2. Draw butterfly, bunny, flower, carrot, or other designs on the stones with markers. Let the paint dry completely. 3. For animal and bug designs, glue on a pair of eyes.

Garden Stones

What you need: River rocks from local landscape center * Weatherproof and nontoxic paint markers or paints

1. Wash and dry the stones. Write a message, such as "Bunny Crossing" or "Hippity Hoppity," with markers. Draw bunnies or a carrot on the stone with markers or a paintbrush. Let the paint dry completely before placing the stone in the garden.

Rascally Rabbit Gift Box

What you need: Oval box with lid (7 1/2x10x5 inches) * 12x18-inch sheet of pink stiff felt * Stapler * Crafts glue * Double-sided tape (optional) * 5 sheets of blue paper * White, black, purple, and yellow paper scraps * Thin white wire * 1 1/2-inch pink pom-pom * 2 1/2-inch white pom-pom * White crafts fur scraps * Hole punch * Orange curly ribbon

1. Cut two 4x18-inch ears from felt. Staple ears inside the box along top edge. 2. Cover box and lid with blue paper. 3. Have an adult cut a 1/8x4 1/4-inch slit on each side of the lid and slip over ears. 4. Cut out face pieces and glue to front of box. Add wire whiskers, a pink pom-pom nose, and white pom-pom tail. Glue a small piece of fur to top of lid. 5. Punch two holes at the top of each ear. Thread one curly ribbon through each ear. Knot ends together to create a handle.

Bunny Buckets

What you need: Clear or green 1-liter soda bottle * White, orange, and green adhesive craft foam sheets * 2-inch-wide wire-edged ribbon * Hole punch * Chenille rickrack * Scissors * Crafts glue

1. Rinse bottle and remove label. Cut away the top third of the bottle with scissors. 2. If desired, glue rickrack around top of the bottle. 3. Cut rabbit silhouettes or carrot tops from the foam sheets, remove paper backing, and press in place around the top of the plastic bucket. 4. Punch a hole on each side of the plastic bottle bucket, about 1 inch from the top. Cut a 15-inch length of ribbon and thread through each hole. Knot ribbon ends in place inside the bottle.
